When a laptop boots up and there is nothing on the screen there are a number of reasons for this.  Step 1. First is a memory problem. Check that the memory is seated properly. Switch the memory with a new module that you know is working. If this does not work try step 2. Second remove the hard drive and press F2 as soon as the laptop boots.
