Sony Vaio Laptop SZ model - Noisy Fan problems

Friday, June 19th, 2009

Laptop Repair companies are now receiving more and more sony Vaio SZ model laptops for problems with the fan.

This laptop has a fault where it gets blocked with dust and then starts to make a loud whirring noise.

It is quickly becoming a bigger and bigger headache for customers, as trying to purchase a fan from sony is virtually impossible. Laptop repair companies can repair this problem but it is soooo difficult. The motherboard has to be taken out of the laptop. (very difficult) Then the fan has to be replaced (hard to get hold of) Keeping the fan clean with compressed air being blown into the grills at the back of the laptop would have prevented the problem. The whirring noise gets worse then as soon as it sounds like a helicopter taking off, the customer takes it for repair. This is an expensive laptop parts are not cheap. Expect a repair price of around £150.00 - £200.00 !

You can purchase a can of compressed air from Maplins or take it for a repair at a REPUTABLE laptop repair company .

Sony vaio memory slot problems

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

A few years ago. Sony vaio laptops where vivisting workshops all over the country because of a memory slot problem on thier motherboards. Sony have long fixed this problem so if you think you will have this problem with an new laptop chances are high that you wont. If your laptop does not boot do not open the memory slots and try to push the memory hard into the board or this will break the pins. If your laptop does not boot up this is a safety mechanism in sony laptops in order for the protection of the motherboard. Take the laptop to a Qualified Engineer. For the most part though you will not find this in most modern sony laptops. They cleared this problem up a long time ago. The only way you will get this problem now is if you press on the contacts on the memory slot too hard.

If this has not put you off and you still want to buy a sony laptop then Amazon is doing some very good deals this winter.

Sony Laptop Not Booting up

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Does your sony laptop not boot up ? Sony laptops are usually good  laptops. However One day they are working great , the next they just fail to boot up. Usually just a simple repair is needed. Caution has to be taken as to where you take your laptop. The number of computer repair shops claiming to repair laptops has risen greatly. The best thing to do is take it to a laptop repair company.

Just type laptop repairs in google and use one of the NATURAL listings, this should help you not to get stung.

The reason They dont boot.

Sony vaio laptops should be serviced. They need the fans cleaned out and hard disk checked to see the maion disk is not full also the battery has to be checked. If the main battery is old and does not hold a charge this can affect the smaller on board battery and this could mess with the bios ( basic input output system) causing it to fail boot up. The fan can get blocked overheat and the laptop will shut off to protect itself from damage. This often happens when the laptop is used on a bed. The blankets block the fan and cause it to overheat. The laptop should then be taken to a good service centre like www.SonyLaptopRepairs.co.uk The laptop will then be serviced and will work perfectly afterwards. This is usually an easy repair not needing any major work to be carried out on the motherboard. Sony vaio laptops may not boot up becuase of condensation. Condensation ?. Yes condensation is the cooling of vapour to a point where liquid begins to appear. For example imagine its a cold february evening and you use your laptop near a window, you can see the liquid condensation forming drips on the inside of the window. You cannot see any vapour or condensation on your laptop but laptop engineers have seen this liquid damage internally on laptop motherboards. When the customer was questioned the real truth became clear. Laptops being used in bathrooms on window sills can often cause this crazy problem. If this occurs the laptop will either short out or just fail to boot.

There are a number of reasons they fail to boot up but none of them very serious, If your laptop fails to boot, take it to a sony vaio repair specialist.
